Saturday 11/05 Final day of the 2024 Annual Tournament -

So that’s a wrap for 2024.

Blessed with fine weather, good numbers and some very fine scores. Thankyou everyone for supporting Myrtleford Golf Club.

Today was the Men’s & Women’s Stroke event. 53 players took part. Complete results follow.

Special mention of the two best scratch scores - Darren Edwards 75, Joshua Hayes 76.

Best nett scores overall our own Blackie 65 (some local knowledge I’m guessing), Ian Wales 66.

Kerry Newton won the ladies’ comp 93/72, rup Carol Bailey 94/77 c/b.

Aaron Jose goes home with a nett A grade win and a new golf bag. Barrie Bynon is snacking on his raffle win.

The day turned into fine & sunny, but the early fog came as a chilly surprise.

Faye McLees & Heather Street fought it out for top honours - Faye pipping Heather on a c/b, both with 38pts. Rup Denise O’Donohue 36. Next popular number was 35 - shared by Jan Roseby, Judy Bynon & Barb Welch.

NTPs 1st Kerry Newton, 8th Judy B, 14th & 16th Marnie Broz.

Penny Dawkins scored best in the 9 hole comp with 20pts, rup Loretta Wales 18.

Two visitors took the advantage at MGC today - Alan Sands from Jubilee 40pts, Andrew Brereton, Wangaratta, 38. Rups Jim Martin 36, c/b and Warren Rowney 34 c/b. Alan is staying in Myrtleford for a while so hopefully we see him back and challenging us all.

Thursday 16/05 Ladies Stableford sponsored by BWS

Today the ladies played a 12 hole Putto Ambrose before our lunch date. Great fun, although some teams were mathematically challenged! Winners with 35pts were the BCD’s Barb Welch, Carolyn Prowse & Denise O’Donohue. Rups Marnie Broz, Faye McLees & Suzette Kelly 33.

We then adjourned to the Savoy Club for lunch to celebrate the end of pennant, the championships & the tournament. We survived!!!!!
