Myrtleford Golf Club Bulletin – May 24th, 2024
After 8 weeks holiday overseas, it is good to be home.
A HUGE SHOUT to all the members who have continued in their many roles in managing our Club, not only in the last couple of months, but every day of the year. Our club has gone from strength to strength, your contribution may only be small, on behalf of the Myrtleford Golf Club I thank you.
A special mention to my Committee, both David Clark and Kerry Newton, Jan Roseby, not only ladies President but our post master of our Facebook page and John Costello who has continued as editor of the bulletin. Doesn’t matter where you are in the world, you can read about our Club.
Men’s Comp.
Last Saturday, a field of 26 players played in a Stableford event.
A grade winner with score of 32 points was Dick Matthews, runner up Jade Galvan with 31.
B grade winner with an excellent 40 points was Andrew Loftus, runner up Wheels Wheeler with 38 points
Last Wednesday, a field of 12 players played in a Stableford event.
On fire was Rocky Rockliff winning on a countback from in-form Andrew Loftus on 40 points, great golf.
Ladies Comp
Last Tuesday, 18 ladies played in a stableford event.
Barb Welch was on fire with an excellent 40 points, runner up Jan Roseby with 38 points.
The 9 hole winner with 18 points was Carol Ames, runner up Suzette Kelly with 16 points. You must admire both winners as they are in their 80’s.
Yesterday 14 ladies played a 2 player Ambrose. Barb Welch continues with her good form, teaming up with Heather Street to win with a net 66, runner up Kerry Chapman and Jan Roseby.
New Member Lessons
The club received notification last week that it was successful in receiving a grant for $5000 for training new golfers.
We will employ a professional to carry out the training and this will happen in the Spring months, tell your friends or even if you are new to the game, this should be of interest to you.
Myrtleford Football/Netball Volunteer of the week
Congratulations to Marnie Broz on receiving the above award. I know she has been Treasurer for many years, and we are all aware of her commitment to our Club, well done Marnie.

New Competition Secret 6
Tomorrow the club will be running a new competition call secret 6, it will cost $2.00 to enter (it's not compulsory).
The Secret 6 is where the Mi Club program select 6 holes at random and when all scores are in and the best score is the winner.
The winner will win 80 percent of the total pool.
You may have a bad day but if you score well on the 6 holes selected you may be a winner.
You can enter the secret 6 when you enter the competition.
Thanks to Dick Matthews for his initiative.
Good hitting,
George
