Myrtleford Golf Club Bulletin – June 7th, 2024

Men’s Comp.

Last Saturday, an excellent field of 31 players played in the Drummond Monthly Medal.

A grade winner and medal winner with an excellent score of net 66, one over the card, was Bob Toal, runner up Brendan Wheeler with a net 71.

B grade winner with a net 72 was Wheels Wheeler, runner up Wazza Rowney with a net 77.

Super 6 winner was Wheels Wheeler, runner up Bob Toal.

Last Wednesday, a field of 20 players played in a Stableford event.

Tony Chapman was in good form with a great 36 points, runner up was Peter Vasey on a countback from Andrew Roseby with 35 points.

Ladies Comp

Last Tuesday, 15 ladies played in a stableford event on a cold day.

Barb Welch continues with her great form with 36 points runner up Jan Roseby with 32 points.

The 9 hole winner with an excellent 19 points was Penny Dawkins, runner up Pat McPherson. Pat with her first shot won the nearest the pin on the first.

Yesterday 13 ladies played in a stableford event. Barb Welch made it a double for the week to win with 35 points, on a countback from Kerry Chapman.

9 hole winner was Suzette Kelly with 18 points, runner up again Betty Newton on a countback from Pat McPherson .

Ladies also played a Super Six yesterday and you guessed it, winner Barb Welch

Golf Australia Instructor Practical Training Day

Golf Australia in collaboration with the PGA is delivering a FREE practical training day for local Community Instructors and school ambassadors at Wangaratta Golf Club.

The training session is a great opportunity to build on knowledge gained in the online accreditation course, and develop your confidence in delivering MyGolf and Get Into Golf programs, with the support of a PGA Professional.

NEDGA Championship Bright.

Last Monday, was the 4BBB and best effort was from Jan Roseby and Barb Welch who won a ball.

Tuesday and Wednesday was the Stroke Championship and Heather Street played very well, winning the C grade handicap for 18 holes on Tuesday, net 70 and on Wednesday continued to play well winning the NE C grade handicap champion, congratulations Heather.
