MYRTLEFORD GOLF CLUB BULLETIN FRIDAY 14TH OCTOBER
WET WEATHER – WET COURSE
The Composite Course is wet but not as bad as expected and is therefore open for play but no carts allowed.
The Full Course is still very wet on the 3rd, 5th, 6th so we will continue using the Composite Course.
COMPETITIONS
Last Saturday saw the 2nd round of the Ian O’May Men’s Singles Shield swith big hitting Craig Piazza win the daily event with 36 pts - obviously the heavy track didn’t worry him, nor Johnathan Mercuri on 35 pts. They can hit over & beyond the wet patches!
NTPs to Andrew, Craig x 2 & Robert Wheeler.
John Costello & Andrew Mackerral were the B grade winners with 32 & 31 pts C/B respectively.
Geoff Veldman is leading the field at this point. The top 8 players yet to be finalised. One more round to go.….
The only midweek competitions were held on Tuesday.
First round of the Ladies 4 BBB championships saw the ‘All Blacks’ pairing of Jan Roseby & Lyn Dwyer leading the pack with 45 pts and dining on fillet steak tonight, thanks to the sponsorship of Clyde Street Butchery.
R’ups Kerry Newton & Robyn Ternes 40pts. NTP’s Marg on the 5th, Jan the 10th.
The 9 hole comp was won by in form Liz Orton 17 pts on a C/B from Suzette Kelly.
The Stableford men’s event was a tight contest between Dave Clark & Jon Harrington, both on 39 pts. I was told that Dave had some lucky putts - but he assures me there was no luck, just exhibition putting! A win is a win….
CALENDAR
Tomorrow, Saturday 15th October, is the 3rd Round of the Ian O’May Men’s qualifying. The monthly Medal will also be played as part of the day’s competition. 9am to 12.30pm hitoff. Brodie Ricardi and Craig Piazza are on duty with assistance from Captain David Clark.
Tuesday 18th October is Ladies 4BBB Championships Round 2 – 9.30 for10am hitoff.
Wednesday 19th Stableford 9.30 for10am hitoff.
