Last Wednesday, 17 players played and the winner was in form golfer Karl O’Shaughnessy with 36 points, runner up Fox with 35 points. It was great to have Bob Toal play and a very warm welcome to a new member Lou Sirca, we hope you enjoyed your day and hope you have a long future with our Club.

Sponsors

Our Club receives fantastic support from our sponsors. Thanks to Liberty Fuels for prize sponsor last month and this month Adam Cartwright Electrical, for the second year in a row.

It is disappointing that some members don’t like the vouchers, our prize sponsors are saving the Club a lot of money whilst at the same time enabling us to support these businesses. If you win a voucher and you are not going to use it, give it to a friend or family.

Mansfield Bowl

Four Ladies travelled to the Mansfield Bowl last Friday and Kerry Newton won A grade. Well done Kerry and thanks to Jan H., Sarah and Jan R. for representing the Club.

Course

Last Sunday, only Kevin Kennedy and Jon Harrington helped me in cleaning up the course for the Victorian Tournament. This was very disappointing, but what can you do. If you want to have the best course in the area and be proud of it, then we must all pull our weight, whether it is in the kitchen, playing pennant or attending working bees.

Bright Challenge

Next Wednesday, 13th April, Bright Golf club is visiting our Club in the Rob Wickes challenge. Please note this date, so important we have a good roll up of members. Names on the notice Board please.

Ladies Pennant

No pennant this week.

Men’s Pennant

Last Sunday, the Wannabees won 4/1 with Tristan Purss playing his first game. They defeated Benalla. Our other pennant team were not successful, playing on the very tight Tarrawingee course, were defeated 5/0.

Brady Hotel Albury

Lesley and I arrived at the Clubhouse last Sunday at 8.15am to a sea of green fee players from Albury. They have been coming to our Club for many years and they make a day of it with a BBQ lunch to finish their day off. We have a real problem with members manning the office for green fee players such as last Sunday, DO we pay a student or retired person to come and work for a couple of hours? Green fees and cart hire are the backbone of our Club.

Chris Rigoni Shield

Last Sunday was the final of the Chris Rigoni 4BBB and the winners were Paul Tanner and Jonathan Mercuri, 4/3. They defeated David Matthews and Spider Hancock and from all reports they played well, they were leading 4 up and the end of the first nine.

Congratulations Johnny and Rosco.

Victorian Autumn Ladies Tournament

The first day of the Ladies Tournament was played at Myrtleford last Monday. 180 players from all over the State including Kerry Newton, Marg Curtis, Jan Roseby and Sandra Piazza. Kerry had the best score of 37 points.

A huge Shout out to our greenkeepers, Gerard and Jonathan, our course received very high compliments, Thanks guys.

Also our magnificient Ladies who worked from 7.00am untill 6.00pm, morning and afternoon teas and a great lunch. Thanks to Carolyn Prowse and her band of workers, WELL DONE.

John Costello, Kerry Newton, Sunday and Monday helping me in pulling it all together. We thank Golf Australia for staging the event at our Club in our Centennial year.

The second day of the tournament, Marg Curtis played extremely well with a 67 for both days, winning B grade and Kerry Newton finished with a 66 – Both ladies played very well.
