President's Bulletin – July 22nd, 2022

Men’s Comp –

Last Saturday, very good field of 20 players played a Par event. Club Handicapper David Matthews came home with the pizza with an even score, runner up Andrew Roseby on a countback from Geoff Veldman with -2.

Yesterday’s Competition, played in bright sunshine, 8 players played in a stroke event and Fox O’Donohue hit a great score of net 73, runner up Peter Vasey with a net 75.

Course

Following the rain last weekend, this weeks events have been played on the composite course with preferred lies. Hopefully the full course will open soon.

Ladies Comp

9 players played last Tuesday in sunny conditions after a heavy frost. Winner was with 34 points Marnie Broz, runner up Sandra Piazza with 33 points.

9-hole competition, Faye McLees was the winner.

Yesterday, 11 ladies played 18 holes stroke event and Jan Harper had a great score of net 73, winning on a countback from Kerry Newton.

Great to see Francis Jackson played yesterday, she is joining as a new member

NEDGA 4BBB

NEDGA Men's and Women's District 4BBB Championships 2022 will be held this year at Black Bull Golf Club, Yarrawonga on Sunday 24th July 2022 and the field is full.

NEDGA Women’s 36 Hole Championship and Foursome Championship, Mansfield, Monday 5^th, Tuesday 6^th and Wednesday 7^th of September. Contact Kerry for more information.

We all send our best wishes to Bimbo who had an operation this week. Looking forward to seeing you back out on our course soon Bimbo.

As a member who has had his prostate removed and now, I believe Prostate cancer is the leading cancer in Australia, I can only urge all men to have a PSA test once a year, don’t leave it too late!
