President's Bulletin – September 2nd, 2022

Course

More rain last Monday, in fact Barwidgee Creek came very close to breaking out onto the 15th.

As we are now into spring, Gerard has decided that if you want to play golf, our course is open – sort of!! Composite, preferred lies and definitely no carts.

Members are reminded to change their shoes when they go into the Clubhouse after golf. If you have a drink or eat a meal in the clubhouse - then please clean up after yourselves.

Men Comp

14 players played last Saturday, great field, beautiful day and Jim Martin won the Drummond Monthly Medal with a great 37 points. Karl O’Shaughnessy made it two in a row as runner up with a great 36 on a countback from David Clark.

Keith Cundy – Report from Dave Clark

David Clark and John Welch yesterday visited long standing and popular member Keith at the Myrtleford Hospital. Keith is starting to feel his age at the moment and awaiting a bed at Myrtleford Lodge when it becomes available. Keith enjoyed the visit, particularly as he doesn’t get many visitors during the week, with family work commitments. Keith said that he does enjoy the visits and would certainly welcome more, so if anyone has a bit of time up their sleeve; don’t hesitate to visit “Nugget” at the hospital or later at the Lodge.

If visiting Keith at the hospital, you will need to take a RATs test in the morning, you will also need to bring with you, to the hospital, the small white cassette that shows the Neg result. The staff will show you where to dispose of same, also be mindful that he tires quickly, and a visit of 10 to 20 minutes is a good length. Keith’s memory is not what it once was, and he can take a minute or two to work out who you are, once he works that out, he’s away. He can only have two visitors at a time, and you will need to wear a mask, when visiting the Hospital.

Cheers Clarky

Thanks David and John for visiting Keith- all members wishing Keith all the best.

Roscoe Tanner

Popular member Paul Tanner was recognized this week in receiving the Ovens and Murray Volunteer of the week. For 29 years, he has worked at the Football Club, and we all know if there is a working bee at the golf course, Paul is the first one there. Well Done, Roscoe. Looking forward to seeing you out having a hit soon.

Funeral wake

Thanks to the ladies for catering for a funeral today, with our income taking a hit because of the wet weather, great to receive income from outside golf.
