Chris Rigoni Shield
The first semi final was played last Saturday and Jade Galvan and Paul Cowman won on the 18th hole from Peter Stewart and myself. It was a very tight match, all square at the turn, they got out to 3 up and we won 14th, 15th and 16th, all square at the 17th, all square at the 18th and they won that hole.
The other semi-final will be between Fox and Tony and Karl and Geoff, which I believe will be played tomorrow.

Course
Great working bee last Monday when first we picked up branches that had fallen over the weekend.
Our contractor did a fantastic job in pruning the large tree on the 10th and with the help of many members and the team from the Beechworth Correctional centre, the tree was cleaned up by the end of the day.
The contractor also removed a fallen branch struck in the tree on the second and removed branches on the sixth fairway. In looking at the photo, maybe the branch on the left hand side of “Jim Dishers tree” could be removed to open up more.
The contractor will be back to remove more branches when the weather cools.
Make sure you make a point of looking up and around while on the course to note the improvements! Again, thank you to all our members who volunteered their time to assist.
A huge thanks to Pieter and Geoff Veldman, Peter Stewart, Jon Harrington, Jim Martin, John Costello and Spider Hancock for working Monday.
Jim and Spider came back on the Tuesday to finish cleaning up, fantastic effort.
Next big working bee is laying crushed rock on our paths.
Drainage
Our contractor has been laying new drainage pipes on the 4th this week. This is a $20,000 project which is replacing plastic 5 inch pipe which was blocked up with dirt and roots. With the new pipe, drainage of the third, off the second and Recreation Reserve will be improved. When do we ever stop spending money on the course?
What you can find in the Cup!!
Thanks to Geoff Veldman, open the link in the attached link.
